Life happens. Dates that made sense a fortnight ago stop making sense, and moving one is no trouble at all.
It's free, there's no limit on it, and nobody is going to give you a hard time about it.
How to do it
Sign in to your Plio account.
Go to Orders and open your order.
Click Request new date.
That opens a chat with our team. Tell us roughly when suits, and we'll go and rebook it.
A day's notice, if you can
Not a rule, just a genuine favour to ask.
Technicians' days get planned in advance, so a change with 24 hours' notice or more is much easier to place, and you'll usually get a better replacement date out of it. Tell us the moment you know, and everyone has an easier time.
If it's shorter notice than that, still tell us. Late is much better than not at all.
Just don't leave them standing there
Rescheduling is free and always will be. The one thing worth avoiding is a technician turning up to an empty house.
The certain cost is time. The visit is wasted, your slot goes to someone else, and you're waiting again for the next date that suits, which is a frustrating way to lose a fortnight.
There can be a money cost too, and we'd rather be upfront about how that works. Some fibre companies charge for a wasted visit and some don't, and we can't reliably tell you in advance which way yours will go. Where one is charged to us, we pass it on to you. It isn't a fee we invent or make anything on, but it isn't one we absorb either.
Which is the whole reason this section exists. If the day isn't going to work, tell us. Even on the morning. We would much rather move your date ten times than hand you a charge for a visit that never happened.
Why it's a chat rather than a calendar
It'd be neater if you could just pick a new day and be done, and we know that.
We book the work with the fibre company, but their technicians' availability isn't something we can show you live. A date picker would be us guessing on their behalf, which is exactly how people end up holding a booking that doesn't actually exist.
A short conversation gets you a date that's real. Tell us what you need, and we'll do the chasing.
What to tell us
The more you give us upfront, the fewer messages it takes:
Which days work, and which really don't
Morning or afternoon, if you have a preference
How soon you need it, or whether you're happy to wait for something that suits better
Two things to bear in mind: connection dates are weekdays only, and a transfer needs ten working days' notice, so a new date won't be next Tuesday.
Can I move it earlier instead?
Sometimes, and occasionally we'll do it without you asking. That's covered in How do I move up my activation date?
Does it delay my first bill?
Yes, and in your favour. Your billing starts when your connection actually goes live, so if your date moves back, your first payment moves with it.
You're never paying for internet you don't have yet.
Can't find it?
Just message us through the chat bubble instead. The button is a shortcut to the same conversation, so you're not missing out on anything by going the long way round.
